A Spotlight on Attica Studios
Celebrating Craft, Character & Timeless Design
At Pretty in Print Art, we believe great photography deserves great settings — and over recent months, our vintage framed art prints have been brought to life in the most beautiful spaces thanks to the interiors and furnishings of Attica Studios. But the magic doesn’t stop at styling — it starts long before that, with how their pieces are conceived, made, restored, and curated. That’s why we wanted to dedicate a little love back to them with this blog.
Who Are Attica Studios?
Founded in 2022 by Ricardo Miranda and Joana Maia, Attica Studios is a furniture and design studio based in West Sussex, UK, driven by a passion for material honesty, craftsmanship, and lasting character. What began as a personal search for meaningful pieces for their own home evolved into a full studio where old and new come together — blending antique restoration with original furniture design and making.
Their work is rooted in a deep respect for craftsmanship — from carefully restored antique treasures to original collections that echo the best of traditional joinery while feeling fresh and purposeful in contemporary homes.

Design With Character — Not Just Style
Attica isn’t about following trends — it’s about lasting design. Their pieces carry subtle detailing, thoughtful proportions, and a sense of quiet beauty that rewards everyday use. A couple of standout design inspirations include:
- Scallop‑Edged Collection — characterised by a signature scalloped edge that draws the eye and reflects the founders’ Portuguese heritage.
- Sintra Collection — inspired by the soft undulations of the Sintra mountains, this range pairs tactile craftsmanship with light, elegant silhouettes.
Whether it’s a table, sideboard, or an accessory lamp base, every piece is made to feel at home in real living spaces — which is exactly why our art prints look so striking when styled alongside them.
Restoration & Sustainability — A Living Philosophy
What really sets Attica apart is their approach to the life of a piece.
Their workshop balances antique restoration with new design and making, where the lessons from aged, seasoned furniture inform how new pieces are conceived and constructed. This relationship between restoration and original design ensures that every item carries integrity, purpose, and a sense of narrative — whether it’s a revived heirloom or a newly crafted classic.
Sustainability isn’t an afterthought — it’s part of the process. Natural, responsibly sourced timbers and finishes are chosen to age beautifully and be renewed over time, so pieces can be cherished — and even restored again in the future.
Bespoke Creations — Making Your Vision a Reality
Beyond their ready‑to‑shop collections, Attica Studios offers bespoke commissions — a collaborative process for clients and designers who want something perfectly tailored to their space or project. From initial concept discussions to detailed material selection and final craftsmanship, each bespoke piece reflects its owner’s lifestyle and personality.
This custom approach isn’t just about bespoke furniture — it’s about co‑creating pieces that feel like they were always meant to be in your home.

Why We Love Working With Them
So why does Attica’s work make such a great partner for showcasing art?
Because their furniture and interiors don’t just serve as backgrounds — they create a setting:
- That feels warm, intentional, and real.
- Where art looks like it truly belongs — not just displayed, but lived with.
- That reflects the same appreciation for detail and quality that we value in our vintage prints.
Their commitment to craft, character, and sustainability resonates with us — and their pieces bring depth, atmosphere, and meaning to every frame we photograph.

Attica Studios is more than a furniture maker — they’re storytellers of space, material, and timeless design. Their pieces are crafted to be loved, lived with, and passed down — just like the art we frame and cherish.
Working with them has been a pleasure — and if you’re drawn to interiors that feel rooted in craft, purpose, and personality, they’re definitely worth exploring.
