How to use the frame builder

Our frame builder lets you try every frame, mount and size on your own print and see exactly how it will look before we make it by hand. Open it from any print with the Design your frame button, from Redesign this frame on a Handmade Frame, or from Design this set on a set.

1. Choose your size

Sizes are shown in centimetres with inches underneath. This is the size of the print itself. The mount and frame go around it, and the builder tells you the finished size as you go. If you pick a square size for a print that isn't square, you'll see the whole picture with white paper around it, never cropped.

2. Choose your frame

Tap any frame to see it on your print. Filter by gold & gilt, painted, or wood & black. Tap the picture at any point to see the frame up close.

3. Add a mount

Choose a mount width, or none at all. Pick a colour, or go for a double mount, with a second colour in a thin line next to the art. On some frames you can add a V-groove too.

4. Glass

Standard glass is included. You can choose an upgrade if you'd like one, and the price updates as you go.

5. Frame a whole set together

If your print is part of a set, you'll see the others on a little wall, framed exactly the same way. Your own print is always included. Tap any other print to add it, or choose Just my frame if you only want the one. Change the frame or mount and every print in the set changes with it.

6. Review and add to basket

Check everything on one screen: the frame, mount, glass, size and price. If you're ordering a set, you'll see each print and the total, and they all go into your basket together.

Good to know

Every Handmade Frame is made by hand to order on Dartmoor.
Save 5% when you buy 2 or more Handmade Frames.
On the Review step, tap Download to save a picture of your frame with a see-through background, ready to try on a photo of your wall. With a set, you get one picture per frame.
Log in with your email and your frames are saved, so you can come back and change them. No password needed.

Questions

Can I see the frame up close?

Yes. Tap the picture of your frame at any step to see the corner up close.

I only want my own print from a set. Can I skip the others?

Yes. On the Your set step, choose Just my frame, and only your print goes in the basket.

Why is the Next button greyed out?

There's still something to choose on that step. The builder tells you what's missing just above the button.
